About
Solvitur ambulando—it is solved by walking—is a phrase that has followed me for years. It comes from the ancient philosopher Diogenes, who answered a debate about whether motion was real by simply standing up and walking away. I’ve always loved the simplicity of that gesture, because my own clarity tends to arrive the same way: out on a forest path, my dogs ranging ahead, the air shifting as we move through stands I’ve known since childhood. Walking the estate is where I think best—where problems loosen, ideas take shape, and the noise of the world falls back into something manageable. If you want to understand how I work, start there: boots on the ground, dogs in the trees, and the belief that most things make sense once you start moving.
Voice-To-Text and AI
The content and posts that I publish here are created as a spoken dictation into a voice‑to‑text app. There’s a very obvious indication of that slightly AI‑generated cadence around the text, as I just got AI to tidy up and format the text - but the ideas themselves were verbalised by myself in real time.
Something to do when I bring my dogs for walkies - big long range patrols deep into the forests near my house for two or three hours. Truly the new frontiers of how we create.
I’m also experimenting with Ghost.io as a new publication platform, so consider this part of that exploration.
